Lansdown Park Academy provides personalised education and support to a wide range of students who for a variety of reasons are not engaging in mainstream education.

We have two sites; Rush Hill in Bath and at Stockwood in South Bristol. Pupils are referred to us through both Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) and Bristol City Council (BCC).

Our Mission 

Is to provide a safe, inclusive and aspirational learning environment, where all pupils are prepared for their next steps and leave us with the skills to become well-rounded members of the community.

These statements form the backbone to everything that happens at Lansdown Park Academy. From the curriculum to the environment and to the experiences that pupils receive while with us.

In my career I have leadership experience within a range of educational settings across KS1-4 in both mainstream and alternative provision.  No matter the setting I am firmly committed to a belief in high expectations for all and that all pupils have access to a high-quality education.

There has been significant progress and change since my appointment in January 2021. External monitoring through both Local Authorities and feedback from the schools that we work with has been overwhelmingly positive. Clear Pathways for all pupils are in place to ensure that we are providing a curriculum that is suited to each pupil.

Our positive working with schools is seen at its best through our Outreach programmes. This is where pupils remain with their mainstream setting but receive a weekly package of support from our trained staff. Our well-established Primary programme has seen a dramatic reduction in Permanent Exclusions across South Bristol.
